Jammu is facing acute power cuts in this hot season of the year. The power crisis has compounded the day-to-day activities of the people in the rising temperature. The mercury has went above 40 degrees celsius. The Govt has assured 24×7 power supply to the areas where smart meters stand fully installed but on the ground situation is contradictory.
The power supply is erratic in these areas. The people have raised voices against the PDD but no suitable action has been taken so far. Increased power cuts have grossly affected the water supply which has added fuel to the fire. Here it is pertinent to mention that heavy electric bills stand outstanding against the big ones but carry on system goes be one. People using unfair means need to be taken to task. The poor is suffering at the cost of unscrupulous elements. The Department of Power should rise to the occasion and immediate efforts need to taken in hand so that people get some relief from the power cuts in this hot summer.
