SAMBA, Mar 23: Bhagat Mahasabha today celebrated nirwan divas of Sadguru Kabir at Hiranagar. Hundreds of people of Megh community participated in the religious programme to pay homage to the great saint of Bhakti movement.
In the programme, satsang and kirtan was held by Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat ji Gorda Waley. Swami Milkhi Ram Bhagat asked the gathering to follow the teaching of Kabir as only his teachings can bring Megh community out of backwardness and dark-age.
Pawan Bhagat, Chairman, Bhagat Mahasabaha J&K unit appealed the community to stop bad habits of drinking wine, smoking, dowry, etc.
Mahinder Bhagat, president, Bhagat Mahasabha J&K unit impressed upon masses to inculcate the spiritual and moral values among community people.
On the occasion, children of community spoke on the life and teachings of Sadguru Kabir, BR Ambedkar and Saheed Bhagat Amar Nath.
Prominent members of Megh community and meritorious students were also honoured. Guru ka Langar was also served to the sangat.
Among others present were Bodh Raj Bhagat, national vice president, Parkash Chand Bhagat, Anant Ram Bhagat, Kaku Ram Bhagat, Sanesh Bhagat and Jai Kumar Bhagat.
