WWAO organises seminar on Women Empowerment

JAMMU, Mar 24: World Women Awakening Organization (WWAO) organised a seminar on “Women’s Empowerment” on the theme given by UN “Equality for Women, means Progress for All” at Damana.
The seminar was organized to illuminate people with the burning issue prevailing in the society including equality for women.
Prof Sarla Kohli, retd Principal GGM Science College and president WWAO Jammu Chapter presented the welcome address.
On the occasion, the chief guest was Anjali Sharma, Station Director, Doordarshan Jammu, whereas the guest of honour was Roma Wani, Chairperson, The Inner Cell Forum for Evolution Development and Awareness and general secretary Red Cross Society.
Various prominent and distinguished personalities who also attended the seminar were State Mission Director, National Mission for Empowerment of Women, J&K, Hafiza Muzaffar, Prof Rita Jitendra, the members of organization, Sneh Bali, National general secretary WWAO, Shashi Thakur DySP Jammu, Prof Nancy Handoo from NIT, Nirmal Kamal, retd Prof, Department of Economics.
Lecturers from many colleges spoke on the occasion and presented power point presentations on various sub topics of the main theme.
Those who spoke included Sapandeep Kour and Pankaj Jasrotia from Handa College of Education, Pooja Pandita and Shweta Dhar from Sai Shyam College.
Various educationists presented their views regarding the women’s empowerment and gave suggestions to ameliorate the standard of women in the society.
Veena Handa, National Advisor and President External Affairs WWAO presented vote of thanks.
