Sensex recovers 131.18 points

MUMBAI, June 24 : The BSE Sensex on Monday regained 131.18 points to close at 77341.08 on the strength of Auto, Power and Industrials stocks amid mixed Asian Market.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 36.75 points to 23537.85.

High volatility was witnessed in the equity market on Monday as the sensex opened at 76885.75, sliding 324 pts. During the day it was lost 464 pts at 76745.94, days low.
Later, it erased earlier losses and jumped nearly 214 points at 77423.02, days high, before closing at 77341.08, up 131.18 points from its previous close.

Stocks that lifted the market were Auto by 1.33 pc, Power by 1.28 pc and Industrials by 1 pc.
The NSE registered days high and low at 23,558.10 and 23,350 points respectively.
In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
The Mid cap rose by 0.37 pc while Small cap by 0.27 pc.

The gainers were M & M by 2.69 pc to Rs 2913.35, Powergrid by 2.23 pc to Rs 333.05, Sun Pharma by 1.93 pc to Rs 1494.75 and Nestle India Ltd by 1.35 pc to Rs 2530.90.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 2.37 pc to Rs 1490.53, Adani Ports by 1.72 pc to Rs 1460.20 Tata Steel by 1.08 pc to Rs 177.90 and Reliance Industries by 0.82. pc to Rs 2883.

Asian Market witnessed a mixed trend as Strait Times was up by 0.25 pc and Set Composite by 0.78 pc.
Taiwan Weighted fell by 1.93 pc and Kospi by 0.71 pc. ( UNI)
