JAMMU, June 25: The signature campaign launched by Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) demanding Satellite Duggar Channel, continued here today in Main Chowk of Patoli Magotrian Jammu.
The campaign has been launched to seek the support of general public in large. A huge number of people from all walks of life put their signatures in support of Satellite Duggar Channel and also appreciated the team DADAA for the demand to protect and develop the rich cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar Pradesh in general and welfare of artists fraternity in particular.
Speaking on the occasion, spokesperson of DADAA, Janak Khajuria apprised the general masses about the importance of Satellite Duggar Channel. He said the Doordarshan is a strong medium to explore the rich monuments and tourist spots of Jammu region which also generates the employment for locals. He said the language, art and cultural heritage preservation and its transmission to the coming generation can play a great role by the visual media during the present times.
“Our Language Dogri is a part of 8th schedule of Indian Constitution. When other recognized languages in the 8th schedule have their Satellite channels then reason of denying the same to Jammu is not justified,” he said.
Meanwhile, an organization named Rotate International, a social organization dedicated to empowering women in Jammu, came forward and fully supported the demand of DADAA for Satellite Duggar Channel in Jammu.
Nitesh Trikha, Parbhari Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh for Rotate International, handed over a letter of support to J S Babli, president of DADAA in presence of members namely Subhash Gupta, Sher Singh Jamwal, Sardar Harpreet Singh and Nipun Malhotra.
The DADAA members, who were present in signature campaign, included Dr Kamal Sharma, Sher Singh Jamwal, Madan Rangila, Subhash Jamwal, Rajinder Narang and S Kumar.
