JTC, SKF urge Govt to solve migrants problems

JAMMU, June 25: A meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held under the chairmanship of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita at Jagti township near here, today.
Addressing the members Pandita said that the Kashmiri Pandits migrants have been forced to live in exile for 34 years and their difficulties are increasing day by day. He warned the UT and Center Government to resolve the problems of Kashmiri Pandit migrants immediately who are facing many difficulties from last 34 years.
Pandita said that the Kashmiri migrant relief holders are on protest for the last four years for enhancement of relief which is very less and migrants are not able to make their both ends meet due to high inflation. He demanded hike in cash relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per month. He further demanded 20,000 more jobs for community youth to over come rising unemployment, release of balance amount of ex-gratia for houses torched by terrorists and compensation for houses damaged during last 34 years of turmoil. He also demanded establishing of three satellite townships in Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla for rehabilitation of Pandits, compensation for loss of other immovable property including orchards etc and soft loans for educated over-aged KP youth.
