Martyrdom Day

Sir,
Our freedom fighters who laid down their lives for us seem to have been confined just to an advertisement. People seem to have forgotten them forever, if we go by the way we observe their Martyrdom Day.
Media whether print or electronic does not have space and time for them. No write-ups in newspapers or features are telecast on those who sacrificed their lives to see us live with dignity and freedom. It is only through advertisements issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India that we remember them and pay homage. Our freedom fighters were not merely human beings in blood and flesh but they were extra-ordinary people. They were symbols of courage, conviction, sacrifice, patriotism and bravery. They have suffered innumerable hardships during their life time. They have sacrificed their joys, so that we may not live in sorrow. They have suffered humiliation so that we live with dignity.
As citizens of this country, we should not only pay them homage but live their ideals.
Yours etc…
