SRINAGAR, Mar 25: Scores of students from Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) today skipped their exams and staged strong protests against the Institute administration for rusticating three of its students after a minor scuffle between two local and non-local groups of students.
The angry students accused the college Principal of step-motherly treatment with local students, while as applying different yardstick when dealing same issue with non-local students inside the college campus.
The students refused to sit in the exams till action was not taken against the “real culprits” involved in the scuffle. “When the principal is removed, and the rusticated students are called back only then shall we sit for exams,” the students demanded.
The protesting students later reached Press Enclave, Lal Chowk to press for their demands and raised slogans against principal’s high handedness.
