JAMMU, June 29: Association of Industries, Gangyal has appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to address the burning issues of the Industries of the region.
In the Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Association, Gangyal, held under the Chairmanship of Tejwant Singh Reen, the members discussed the present scenario of existing industries. The meeting was attended by a large number of member units and discussed threadbare the problems of existing industry.
Reen informed the gathering about various meetings held with Lt Governor, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary, Industries & Commerce and Director, Industries & Commerce for resolution of various issues such as Turnover Incentive, issue of substantial expansion and marketing of manufactured goods by the Industrial sector to Govt Departments.
He said under Industrial Policy only Rs 50 crore budget will be available for this incentive that too if funds are available. Immediately after the issuance of Industrial Policy, the captains of the Industrial Sector met the then Commissioner/ Secretary concerned with the request that budget should be as per actual claims and he assured that to start with this incentive 50 crore budget had been kept and in case the claims are higher, the budget will be increased. For the year 2021-22 the claims were submitted to the tune of Rs 176 crore from Jammu division and Rs 30 crore from Kashmir, i.e. total of 206 crore. The Association has requested the Government that budget may be enhanced and payment may be made as per actual claims.
Regarding Substantial expansion Reen informed the members that issue was discussed with all the concerned officers. Association has urged the Lt Governor’s administration to fulfill demand regarding the Substantial Expansion and all incentives may be provided to the unit holders going for substantial expansion as per the Industrial Policy.
Regarding the procurement of industrial manufactured products, Reen requested the Lt Governor and Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce to resolve this issue as nearly 25% to 30% Industries were running their units by selling their products to various Govt Departments through SICOP which are at the verge of closure as these units cannot compete their rates on GeM.
The members raised the issue of bad condition of roads in industrial area, Gangyal. The meeting was also attended by vice president Sandeep Ohri, general secretary Pardeep Vaid, secretary Ajay Kumar Mahajan and others.
