Cyber Crime investigation course concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, June 29: A five-day course on “Investigation of Cyber Crime” concluded today at SK Police Academy (SKPA) Udhampur.
The course, which began on June 25, saw participation from fourteen officers of the J&K Police.
Designed as a capacity-building tool, the program aimed to equip investigating officers with the skills necessary to combat the growing menace of cybercrime.
The course covered a broad spectrum of topics, including computer forensics, hacking methodologies, operating systems, denial-of-service attacks, basic network protocols, cryptocurrency, and the vulnerability of financial transactions. These sessions involved discussions, deliberations, and practical demonstrations.
Eminent speakers from various institutions, including the Government College of Engineering & Technology Jammu, cyber experts from J&K Cyber Police Station, and faculty from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, delivered lectures.
Their expertise provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in cybercrime investigations.
The valediction function, held on the final day, featured Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor Trgs) SKPA, as the chief guest.
In his valedictory address, Gupta highlighted the importance of modern techniques in handling cybercrimes.
He stressed that as first responders, officers must be well-versed in the appropriate actions to take when a cybercrime is reported.
Gupta emphasized, “Staying updated with the latest cybercrime investigation techniques is crucial for effective law enforcement in the digital age.”
He commended the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge in their respective roles.
The course was coordinated by Inspector Rohit Gupta and assisted by HC Sanjay Singh, under the guidance of senior officers of the Academy.
