JAMMU, July 1: A team of ‘Design Your Degree’ programme students from Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground Jammu participated in International Conference on Monitoring Biodiversity for Action (ICMBA-2024) and their project on CO2 capture was declared best.
The seven-member team comprising Tarunpreet Kour, Sehrish Altaf, Sukriti Khajuria, Tanvi Sharma, Tania, Sneha Manhas and Dr. Gurpreet Kour showcased their innovative approach to CO2 capture, presenting comprehensive research plans that impressed conference attendees and experts alike.
The project, jointly mentored by Prof. Kaurab Singh, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology and Dr. Gurpreet Kour, Assistant Professor of Chemistry secured the prestigious Best Poster Award at the Conference hosted at Kashmir University from June 25 to 27, 2024.
Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Principal of GCW Parade commended the ‘Design Your Degree’ team for their diligence and innovative spirit.
Dr. Alpana Vohra, Dean of ‘Design Your Degree’ programme emphasized that the recognition garnered by ‘Design Your Degree’ programme of GCW Parade at an international platform underscored its commitment to empowering students and faculty to make meaningful contributions to environmental sustainability and scientific research.
