Harassment of domestic help

Sir,
In India, the number of domestic help is increasing among our urban and rural rich. From the year 2001 to 2010 the number has risen to 10 million in our country. They are now part of our work force and there is  no any special law to safeguard their rights. In 2008 the Central Govt passed Labour Social Security Act wherein domestic helpers also fall in  it. So far as Indian Journal of Research is concerned, in India domestic servants are not being treated well by their masters. They are generally humiliated and discriminated. They are often rebuked and also at times theft cases stand framed against them. Domestic help has paved the way for human smuggling and this evil trade is growing fast in our country. In this context the number of suits in Indian judiciary have tremendously gone up as per  NCRB report.
Recently, National Women Commission has recommended for adoption of  National Policy in the matter. People have to change their mindset towards women- folk so as to raise them up in the society.
It is time to take some drastic measures to curb this evil and try to mitigate the sufferings of domestic servants in India. This is a serious problem and needs attention of the Govt.
Yours etc……
