ICAI J&K Branch celebrates CA Day

JAMMU, July 2: The 75th CA Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by J&K Branch (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
The celebrations began with the members and students coming in huge numbers for the blood donation campaign, planting 75 trees at 75 locations to commemorate the 75 years of their Alma Mater and a free medical checkup organized by Narayana Hospital.
CA Sat Sharma (former Minister) also graced the event. JK ICAI members also visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bhagwati Nagar in association with Guru Nanak Langar Mission Trust to plant fruit trees. Further, the members and students participated in Run for Viksit Bharat to highlight the importance of good health.
In the evening, the Branch held a seminar on Capital Markets at Royal Park, By Pass, Greater Kailash, Jammu. Vineet Kohli (Chairman of the J&K Branch), delivered a compelling welcome address in which he underscored the significant achievements of ICAI over the past 75 years while Bharat Makkar (the guest speaker) enlightened the members with his insights on how an understanding of capital markets can transform our financial lives.
The event was graced by the presence of Ramesh Kumar (Divisional Commissioner of Jammu) as the chief guest. In his address, Ramesh Kumar highlighted the pivotal role of CAs in the financial sector and nation-building. He emphasized the trust and legacy that the Government places in ICAI and the significant responsibilities that rest on the shoulders of Chartered Accountants.
In a gesture of recognition and encouragement, Ramesh Kumar, felicitated the newly qualified CAs while some were given cash awards for their exceptional academic performance.
The event was also graced by Dr M Muthu Mathavan (Facility Director, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspecialist Hospital, Katra). Adding to the significance of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ICAI and Narayana Hospital.
Dr Alka Sharma conducted the proceedings of the event while Sourav Pargal (vice chairman) presented the formal vote of thanks.
Priya Seth (secretary), Vikas Purdhani (immediate past president) and Ayush Sawhney (executive member) were also present.
