Theft case solved; stolen jewellery, cash recovered

RAMBAN, July 2: Police here today solved a theft case and arrested the thieves besides recovering the stolen items from their possession.
As per the case on June 10, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Ramban by one Khan, son of Khurshed Ahmed, resident of Kowbagh area regarding theft of gold ornaments including two bangles, two earrings, one ring, one chain and one necklace as well as silver ornaments including two necklaces, eight silver earrings, two silver rings with all the stolen jewellery amounting to Rs. 3 lakh.
The complainant also stated that some cash was also stolen.
Police registered an FIR with No. 138 of 2024 under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code at Police Station Ramban and started investigation.
During investigation, cops rounded up several suspects and upon sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed their involvement in the case.
The arrested thieves were identified as Sajad Ahmed, son of Mustaq Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, both residents of Ward No. 2, Kowbagh, Ramban.
Following their disclosure, Police recovered all the stolen gold and silver items along with cash of Rs. 10,000 from a location near their house.
Investigation of the case was going on till last reports.
