JAMMU, Mar 27: Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Awamy Party (PPAP), a new political outfit which has been recently registered under Election Commission of India, has fielded Advocate Mohd Abbas Khan as its candidate for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat, who has already filed his nomination papers.
Addressing a press conference here today at Press Club, party president, Advocate Mohd Younis Chauhan that MPs representing Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency had done nothing for this constituency particularly Pir Panjal region area. The railway line, which was proposed upto Poonch was deferred while newly sanctioned Medical College by the Central Government for the State was not even given to the Pir Panjal region, he said.
Moreover funds for Hydroelectricity projects like Purnai Project and Gagerkote were not provided and the horticulture sector was totally neglected in the area, he maintained. This discrimination with the Pir Panjal region has forced us to form a new party, he said and requested the voters of the constituency to vote for Party candidate Mohd Abbas Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohd Abbas Khan said that people of the Pir Panjal region are still lacking basic facilities like water, electricity, roads, education and health. Moreover the basic medical facilities like blood bank, CT scan machine and other basic equipments, doctors and paramedical staff are not provided in the region, and the students belonging to this region are not getting admission in the near by university—Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, he regretted and asked the present MP representing the Constituency to make public, if anything he has done for the region.
