REASI, June 30: Natrang Jammu today staged two plays ‘Suno Eh Kahani'(Dogri) and ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’ (Hindustani) both written and directed by Balwant Thakur at Arnas, the remotest area of the District.
SSP Reasi, Raghuvir Singh, was the chief guest who not only appreciated efforts of Natrang in sensitizing masses through theatre but also complimented them for reaching out to the remotest and backward areas of the State.
First play of the day ‘Suno Eh Kahani’ was presented in Dogri, which underlined the need of the education of the girl child and sensitized the society about the importance and utility.
The hit of the day was most aspiring theme ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’, which prepares the youth-the majority population of the State to strive for excellence in life.
The play begins with local problems like growing involvement of youth in drugs and decaying respectability among youth for elders. Later a young man emerges in the scene who represents the youth and wants to lead the world.
Despite making all-out efforts he finds himself trapped in such a system where people instead of supporting him and his vision are pushing him towards darkness, where he will end up ruining himself.
He has a dream for his village where no one fights in the name of religion, where there is no hatred, no separatist thought but a vision of progress and prosperity. The play concludes with the youth pledging to rise above small issues to touch new horizons and scale ultimate heights.
The artist who participated in the play included Neeraj Kant, Dimple Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Pawan Verma, Rohit Verma, Mohd Yaseen, Pankush Verma, Rahul Singh, Tajasvi Sharma, Sajra Adir, Rajni Nhatti, Balwinder Singh, Sushil Raina, Atin Tikka, Ashwani Bali, Suneel Sharma, and Basnet Romilla.
The sounds and technical effects were looked after by Shummy Kalsotra and his team of technicians.
