National Conference on Integrated Strategies for Marketing Tourism, Allied Services concludes

JAMMU, Mar 27: Two-day National Conference on Integrated Strategies for Marketing Tourism and Allied Services concluded today in the Executive Communication Hall of The Business School.
The chief guest for the occasion, Jalil Ahmed Khan, Economic Advisor to the Government expressed his concern for the State Tourism and also congratulated the organizing Secretaries and other team members for their efforts towards such deliberation which is the need of the hour.
He illustrated that tourism industry can be the most important source of business and employment generation. Moreover, he enunciated that tourism is one of the competencies for the State of J&K and it has great cultural diversity as a result of which each tourist spot can be developed according to its unique qualities.
The guest of honour, Prof. Ashok Aima, Professor, Central University Jammu held the view that the Universities are no longer just teaching institutes but are integral part of the State administration and the Corporate Sector deriving the economic growth. In the burgeoning times, institutes must keep coming up with such conferences.
Soujanya Sharma, Director Tourism Jammu urged upon delivering quality education in tourism and hospitality so that trained human resource can be made available for the betterment of the industry.
Prof. J.P Sharma, University of Rajasthan appreciated the papers presented in the technical sessions and also appreciated the arrangements made by the organizers.
Earlier, Professor Versha Mehta, Director, The Business School, in her welcome address, considered the organisation of such conferences as great learning experiences contributing towards the development of the concerned industry.
Prof. Keshav Sharma, Coordinator, UGC SAP DRS-II expressed his opinion about the conference.
Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Deputy Coordinator, UGC SAP DRS-II lauded the efforts of the organizers, participants and all the concerned people and also announced that the next conference would be a step ahead in terms of participation and quality.
Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Conference Organizing Secretary, presented the conference report, elaborating on the activities carried in the two day conference in detail.
Prof. B.C. Sharma, Dean Student Placements, University of Jammu, in his remarks spoke about the reduction of transaction costs as a major contributor towards the betterment of the industry.
Prof. Alka Sharma, TBS, JU presented a formal vote of thanks to all the resource persons, participants and the entire organizing team deputed at multiple levels for their coordinated efforts towards making the conference a success.
Dr. Amisha Gupta, Assistant Professor, The Business School, was the Master of Ceremony. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementoes. The souvenirs sponsored by the Tourism Department were also presented to the delegates.
Among others present on the occasion include Prof. Desh Bandhu Gupta, Dean Management Studies, Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, Faculty members, guests, scholars and students.
