8 gamblers held with over Rs 40,000 stake money

RAMBAN, Mar 27: Police today arrested eight gamblers along with over Rs 40,000 stake money and playing cards from Karool area of the district.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from Ramban police station conducted a raid in Karool area and arrested eight gamblers along with Rs 42,800 stake money and playing cards.
The gamblers have been identified as Kulbir Singh, son of Nek Ram of Kela Morh, Shiv Nath, son of Tej Ram of Jatt Gali, Ishtiaq Ali, son of Mukhtiyar Ali, Mohammad Aslam, son of Meherban Ali and Yaqoob Ali, son of Hakim Chand, trio residents of Chanderkote, Mohammad Latief, son of Kaku Ram of Maitra, Riaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hussain of Seri and Ghulam Qadir, son of Abdul Aziz of district Ramban.
A case under 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
