JAMMU, July 5: J&K Congress has demanded fair investigations into the allegations raised by a senior allegations regarding misuse of public exchequer in a private function of a top Government functionary in Delhi and alleged bunglings in Jal Jeevan Mission in J&K.
Addressing a Press Conference by PCC working president Raman Bhalla and senior vice president and chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma alongwith vice presidents- Vinod Sharma and Ved Mahajan said, it is unfortunate that the said complaint of the senior IAS officer is in public domain and in circulation in social media platform for the last three days but there is complete silence on the part of JKUT Administration and mainstream media as well.
The contents of the complaint written by Ashok Kumar Parmar, presently Chairman of Bureau of Public Enterprises (IAS/AGMUT batch 1992) against a top functionary in J&K Govt are very serious in nature especially misuse of the position and the public exchequer in his personal function, apart from other charges. The complaint includes the prima facie evidence in the shape of the letter of demand by the office of Resident Commissioner New Delhi, under the signature of ARC New Delhi, who has written to the top Govt office in J&K that payment made by office of Resident Commissioner office from state exchequer to the tune of Rs 10,71,605 (Ten lakh seventy one thousand & six hundred five rupees) be reimbursed to deposit in the treasury, to settle the issue, he added.
The Cong leaders further said the payment for lunch and dinner of 120 persons on Feb 16, 2021 was made by RC office Delhi, for the private party at 7-Akbar Road, Delhi. The contents of the complaint are clear and self explanatory as to how the state exchequer was misused, as letter of ARC dated April 6, 2021 clearly established that money was paid for a private function.
They said the IAS officer has also mentioned some allegations in the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Insurance sector but no impartial investigations were ordered despite demand for CBI investigations. Why the PMO is silent over such serious charges against highest office in the JK UT, they asked.
JKPCC leaders demanded that a high level investigation should be held, failing which Congress shall pursue the matter forcefully.
