JAMMU, July 6: On 8th day of the ongoing ‘Langer Sewa’ at Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS), Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Sabha president Romesh Chander Gupta and Arun Gupta (CCI Jammu president) joined other community leaders to serve ‘langer’ to the public.
The ‘Langer Sewa’ being organized by the JCMS will continue till culmination of Shri Amarnath Yatra, accommodating pilgrims from across India and abroad who transit through Jammu before proceeding to the sacred cave.
Sachin Kumar Vaishya expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided by JCMS, highlighting the role of Jammu as a crucial stopover for thousands of visitors who stay for several days. SDM RS Pura Seema Parihar also accompanied the DC Jammu along with her team of officers on duty.
Speaking on the occasion, Romesh Gupta emphasized that visitors at the Sabha premises have access to amenities like toilets, bathrooms and drinking water, besides nutritious meal served in the ‘langer’. He said the Sabha has also been instrumental in providing registration counter for Amarnath pilgrims.
CCI Jammu president commended JCMS for their dedicated services during the Yatra period.
Shiv Partap Gupta (senior vice-president) and Sanjay Mahajan (general secretary) urged members and residents of Jammu to contribute to the ‘Langer Sewa’ initiative.
Other office bearers of JCMS present on the occasion were Sanjay Mahajan, Subhash Gupta, Balbir Gupta, Atul Gupta, Surinder Gupta, CP Gupta, Ram Saroop Gupta, Satish Gupta, Darshan Gupta, Vijay Gupta, Rajan Gupta, Balraj Gupta and Bhuvneshwar Gupta.
