Avtar Singh murder case

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, July 6: Senior Congress leader and DDC member Taranjit Singh Tony and family members of Avtar Singh, who was recently murdered by land mafia men in Greater Kailash area of Jammu, today sought the intervention of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah into the case.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club, Jammu today, Tony said that earlier a SIT was constituted and after this the DG framed Super SIT headed by a DIG to investigate the case but the real culprits and the main conspirator who is City’s known contractor is being shielded being connected to a senior officer in the J&K Government.
He further said that the Revenue Department report has now mentioned that the land belonged to the family of Avtar Singh. If they had mentioned earlier when the family was approaching them, this murder of the innocent person could have been averted. He said the Incharge Police Post , Greater Kailash was also there on the spot when the murder took place but he did not take any action at that time. It shows he too, was part of this conspiracy.
The family members Balbir Singh- father of the deceased and brother Manjit Singh also appealed to the LG’s Administration and DGP to arrest the prime accused/conspirator and Incharge Police Post concerned besides other 3-4 accused still absconding. They also warned to stage dharna outside Parliament in Delhi if the police failed to arrest the prime accused and conspirator, being shielded by a senior officer.
Tony and Avtar’s family members urged the Union Home Minister to direct the J&K police to conduct fair investigation in the case and arrest all the accused, whosoever is influential, in the Avtar Singh murder case.
