KISHTWAR, July 6: Police here today arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered heroin like substance and cash from them.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom while giving details in this regard said on specific information cops led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar and supervised by Dy SP Hqrs Kishtwar raided the rented accommodation of notorious drug peddler Mudassir Hussain, son of Aziz Mohd, resident of Thakrie, presently at Waseerkund Mohalla in Kishtwar and recovered six gram heroin-like substance from his possession along with a cash of Rs. 32,900 and aluminium foil.
A case in FIR No. 179/2024 U/Sec 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar in this regard and the narco-peddler was arrested.
Meanwhile, in evening hours, a patrolling party from Police Post Shalimar noticed the suspicious behaviour of a man attempting to evade cops near Sarthal Morh in Kishtwar but acting swiftly cops arrested him and recovered heroin-like substance weighing about 2 grams from him.
He was identified as Haris Hussain, son of Rifat Hussain, resident of Kotwal Mohalla, Kishtwar.
In this regard, a case in FIR No. 180/2024 U/Sec. 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
SSP Kishtwar emphasized that the investigating officer has been instructed to thoroughly examine the backward and forward linkages in the case, including scrutinizing the bank account statements of the accused persons to ensure that all individuals involved in the illegal trade of narcotic substances are brought to justice under the relevant provisions of the law.
