JKRTC workers for early meeting of committee framed by LG

JAMMU, July 6: Voluntarily retired J&K Road Transport Corporation workers’ Association has extended gratitude to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha for framing eight member committee for addressing the grievances of VRS given JKRTC workers.
In an emergency meeting of the All J&K RTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association (JKUT) held under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali, its president, at Rail Head Complex, the members expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for taking the cognizance of the issues of the VRS given JKRTC workers for the last many years and framing an 8-member committee headed by his Advisor for this purpose.
They also requested the Lt Governor to convene the Board meeting of these members so that issues of the VRS given JKRTC employees be discussed in details and issue is resolved once for all. They said the VRS given / GHS employees have been struggling for the last 12 years and during this period their 75 retired/VRS accorded colleagues have passed away. Many of them could not afford medical treatment due to non-payment of their dues by the J&K Government.
They demanded COLA arrears with effect from 1999 to Dec 31, 2005; 6th Pay Commission arrears from Ist Jan 2006 to April 2012 and their DA arrears from April 2012 to March 2021.
The meeting was also attended by Sat Bhushan Singh, Surinder Singh, Allah Rakha, Rajinder Sawhney and G S Tohra.
