RAMBAN, July 7: Police here today foiled a narcotic smuggling bid in Banihal and arrested two peddlers of intoxicants with heroin.
Police sources informed that cops led by SHO Police Station Banihal while on Naka checking duty in Banihal town intercepted two pedestrians who tried to escape cops but cops caught them and during their physical search heroine like substance weighing 50 gm was recovered and both were arrested on the spot.
Police identified the arrested persons as Mohammad Sadiq Wani, son of Late Ghulam Mohd Wani, resident of Chinar Gali, Banihal and Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Watnarh, Kokernag, District Anantnag.
Police has registered a case in FIR No. 114 of 2024 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS at Police Station Banihal and started investigation.
