JAMMU, July 7: The monthly meeting of the Retirees Police League District Jammu was held today, chaired by S. Karanjit Singh, President of the League.
The meeting addressed several pressing issues faced by retired police personnel, including the non-availability of medicines at the Police Hospital and discrepancies in pension payments for personnel of the same rank.
A significant case discussed involved a retired Sub Inspector who recently underwent open-heart surgery in New Delhi, costing approximately Rs 7 lakhs. The Police Headquarters was requested to provide immediate financial assistance, as arranging such a large sum is challenging for retired personnel.
Members emphasized the need for a new medical policy that equally covers all retirees, advocating against any discrimination within the force. The policy should ensure comprehensive healthcare for all retired members of the police force, they demanded.
The meeting saw a large attendance of retired police personnel, including IGs SS Bajral and Sunil Sharma, SSPs Suresh Kumar and Savita Parihar, SPs SR Datta and DD Sharma, Joint Director Pawan Khajuria, BL Kaul, Choudhary Gulzar Thakur, Dass Saini, CPO Vijay Gupta, DSPs Shamsher Parihar, Bihari Lal Sharma, Kamal Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Khalil Ur Rehman, Yoginder Singh, Parshotam Bali, HS Gill, CM Bakshi, Kuldip Raj, Kuldip Khajuria, PR Shan, Mohan Singh, Inspector Mohammad Sadiq, SI Ved Raj Bali, and Satpal.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the District Administration for its support, followed by a vegetarian lunch.
