Chamunda Mata Yatra continues, holy mace reaches shrine

RAMBAN, July 8: Amidst chanting of religious slogans like “Jai Mata Di” the holy mace reached Chamunda Mata shrine in Sarvadhar area of Ramban today.
The annual pilgrimage in the mountainous Ramban district started on June 20 and will continue till August 21, 2024.
The visiting pilgrims rejoiced better arrangements by the administration and organisers.
There were proper security arrangements by Police and the Army.
Devotees from Doda, Udhampur, Jammu, Kishtwar, Ramban and many other areas visited the shrine to pay obeisance to the deity.
The pilgrimage involves a trek of about 13-14 km on hilly terrain and there were many Langars established for the visiting pilgrims performing this annual pilgrimage which remains there for two months.
Neha, a pilgrim from Jammu informed that she was feeling good after her visit to the shrine of the deity to pay obeisance.
She further said that she found locals of the area very much cooperative and urged the authorities concerned for road connectivity till the shrine.
Other devotees demanded bringing this place on pilgrimage map so that more devotees may visit the shrine and get blessings of the deity.
