Rangyug organises workshop, announces scholarships

JAMMU, July 8: Rangyug, acclaimed performing arts group here today concluded its Summer Internship Program (SIP) in performing arts with performance of experimental Dogri play ‘ODNU’.
The play was dedicated to the memory of iconic actress Susham Sharma, who passed away yesterday.
The 60 hours long program was organised exclusively for female students from Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Government College for Women, Parade under NEP 2020.
The SIP-2024 program was designed to empower young women and nurture their artistic talents and it provided participants with an intensive and enriching experience.
During internship, the students delved into various disciplines of performing arts viz., music, dance and theatre.
The internship was coordinated by Ashish Sharma and assisted by Shivan Gupta and the students learned practical skills from eminent experts and renowned artists like Ashutosh Sharma, Parshottam Kumar, Amarjeet Singh, Pankaj Pradhan, Dr. Mukteshi Sharma, Vicky Gill, Shilpa Gupta, Dr. Juhie Mohan, Dr. Liaqat Jafri, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Dr. Priya Dutta, Mohit Sharma, Sumit Kumar, Rohit Atri, Ashok Sharma and Rajkumar Behrupia.
Dr. S.P Saraswat, Principal PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, graced the occasion as chief guest. Among others, faculty members from GCW Parade and GCW Gandhi Nagar, renowned artists from various fields, students and a large number of people from all walks of life were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Deepak Kumar, Founder/Director of Rangyug said: “We are thrilled to witness the remarkable progress of the interns. For nurturing future generation of female artists Rangyug announces Scholarship in the name of Susham Sharma for training the talented and deserving female students in the field of Music and Theatre.”
