JAMMU, July 9: Jammu based writer-poet Rakesh Abrol has been selected for the sixth edition of the annual Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM) Navlekhan Tej Puraskar- 2023, by Hindi Sahitya Mandal, Jammu.
The award will be given to him for his poetry collection ‘Tumhare Liye’. This award, given by the Mandal in the memory of late Tej Bhan Gulati with the cooperation of his family, carries a cash prize of Rs 11,000, a coconut and a citation.
It is worth mentioning that earlier in five editions from 2018 to 2022, this award has been given to Kunwar Shakti Singh, Sumeet Sudan, Kajal Suri, Naresh Khajuria and Rajneesh Gupta for their poetry collections and drama collection.
This year’s award was decided with the unanimous consent of the jury nominated by the Board. This year the jury of this award included poet-storyteller-critic Prof Rajkumar, writer-poet-culture worker Dr Agnishekhar and Head of the Postgraduate Hindi Department of Jammu University Prof Rajni Bala.
