JAMMU, July 9: Two rusted mortar shells were recovered from a ditch near Ban Toll Plaza area here today.

A police officer said that 120 mm mortar shells sans fuzes were spotted by security forces during joint patrolling around 11:30 am.

Later, he said, the Bomb Disposal Team (BDT) of Army and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Jammu and Kashmir Police were called in to destroy the mortar shells around 1 pm.
Police are further probing the matter.
