POONCH, July 10: Police today detained parents of two newly born babies found allegedly “murdered” in Mankote area of Poonch district.

Official sources said that people of Chhajla found two new born twin babies murdered in the area and informed police at Mendhar. A Police party led by SDPO Mendhar Bhupinder Kumar reached the spot and took the bodies of murdered babies into custody.
After investigation, the police party identified and detained parents of these babies. It was discovered that a young woman delivered twin babies through normal delivery at her residence at Chajjla in Mankote area of Mendhar.
The police detained Mohammad Khurshid, and his 26-year-old wife for further questioning in the matter is going on. The bodies of twins have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Mendhar.
