RAMNAGAR, Mar 29: The BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh, here today embarked on the second phase of election campaign with a series of road-shows in Sarail, Mansar, Battal, Sundla, Puni, Katheel and other areas in Block Majalta, where he implored upon the people to vote against assault on nationalism and respond decisively to the injury afflicted on national pride by the latest terror attack in Dayalachak yesterday.
Singh said on one hand the people of this region are victim of Kashmir-centric dominance, on the other hand they are the target of regular terror attacks sponsored by Pakistan. In such a deadly situation, Narendra Modi has arrived as a rescuer but if we fail to seize this opportunity, we shall be doomed forever and our children will never forgive us, he added.
Calling upon the people to vote for BJP in order to safeguard their survival, Dr Jitendra Singh alleged that the Congress leadership in the State and the Center had mortgaged the honour and dignity of electorate simply to stay in power.
Dr Jitendra Singh pointed out that the region also deserves to be developed as an important tourist destination.
Another issue of the area, he said is land encroachment which is blatant in this belt and is taking place with the connivance of ruling party.
He described Rs 25,000 crore Roshni Scam as the greatest example of land inappropriation and said BJP is committed to probe this but this can be possible only if we first ensure a clear verdict in favour of “Kamal”(lotus) on the day of polling on April 17, he added.
Dr Singh reminded that it is the Congress Party which in connivance with National Conference is trying to revoke AFSPA from these terrorism-sensitive districts.
