JAMMU, July 11: Heavy rainfall on the intervening night of July 9 and 10 caused significant damage to fuel and other goods in a building of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu.
Official sources reported that the incessant rainfall, which lasted from 1 am to 5 am, resulted in massive currents of rainwater carrying debris from the nallahs.
They said these currents struck the wall of Old TC Camp, Channi Rama, Jammu, adjacent to a building of the 160 Battalion of the CRPF.
The force of the water was so strong that it caused the camp’s wall to collapse, leading to damage to petrol, diesel, and other goods stored within the premises of the CRPF facility, sources added.
When this report was filed, authorities had not assessed the exact extent of the damage. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or loss of life in the incident.
