Union Health Secretary inspects facilities for SANJY

Srinagar, July 12: Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra inspected healthcare facilities set up by the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) today.
Accompanied by Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather-as per the directives of Secretary Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department-the Secretary visited various health facilities along the route to the Holy Cave from Pahalgam, including Nunwan base hospital, Pahalgam Hospital, Panchtarni, Sangam, Lower Holy Cave and Holy Cave.
During the visit, the Secretary gathered feedback from yatris and healthcare personnel from across the country.
Director Health Services Kashmir briefed Chandra on the healthcare facilities at the Base Hospital Panchtarni.
“The Union Health Secretary expressed satisfaction with the arrangements and appreciated the efforts of the Health Department,” the statement read.
Chandra also acknowledged the dedicated work of doctors and paramedics, and he was particularly impressed by the innovative Pony Ambulance concept, which enhances healthcare services for yatris.
“I commend the efforts of Director Health Services Kashmir for introducing innovative solutions to enhance healthcare facilities for yatris.”
