LEH, July 12: Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal, today presided over a significant meeting with a delegation from NITI Aayog led by Major General K Narayanan (Retd.), AVSM, SM, and Programme Director of Law & Security.
The meeting, held at the Civil Secretariat Leh, focused on leveraging NITI Aayog’s expertise across various sectors crucial to the Union Territory.
The delegation from NITI Aayog delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation highlighting the Ladakh Innovation Mission and India’s Innovation Ecosystem.
This initiative aims to foster activity-based learning through Atal Tinkering Labs in schools across Ladakh, encouraging young minds to innovate solutions for societal challenges.
Discussions centered on integrating innovation at organizational, knowledge, personal, and ecosystem levels to bolster Ladakh’s economy.
Key deliberations also included strategies for State Support Missions aimed at achieving socio-economic goals by 2047, leveraging NITI Aayog’s role as a knowledge partner.
The meeting emphasized the importance of enhancing Ladakh’s State Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) through effective planning and collaboration.
Advisor Ladakh directed the Planning Department to develop a strategic framework aligned with vision documents, advocating for the establishment of a dedicated NITI Aayog Cell at the UT Ladakh level to facilitate ongoing collaboration.
The meeting saw attendance from senior officials including Principal Secretary of School Education and Industries & Commerce, UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar; Director School Education Department, Tsering Paldan; Director Horticulture Departments, Tsewang Phuntsog; Deputy Director Planning & Monitoring Department, Tsering Angdus; Chief Agriculture Officer and Nodal Officer Agriculture Department, Thinles Dawa; alongside team members from NITI Aayog and other concerned officials.
