SRINAGAR, July 12: The Forest Protection Force today confiscated a significant quantity of illicit timber at Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to a spokesperson, the operation took place late last night within forest compartments 43 and 44 of the Uri division. “We seized 276 cubic feet of illicit kail timber, both round and sawn, from forest compartment 43 and 44 in the Dardkote area of Uri,” he said. He added that legal proceedings are now underway accordance with applicable laws.
Simultaneously, a First Information Report numbered 59/Uri has been filed at the Uri Police Station against the three individuals allegedly involved in the illegal timber trade.
