Police solve theft case in Uri

Srinagar, July 12: Police in Baramulla today successfully resolved a theft case by apprehending the suspect identified through CCTV footage.
Authorities reported that Police Station Uri received a written complaint from Hasan Din, son of Ghulam Qadir and resident of Gawalta, stating that while waiting in line at SDH Uri for an OPD ticket, he had Rs 1 lakh stolen from his pocket.
Accordingly, police registered a case under FIR No. 56/2024, invoking Section 303/BNS at Police Station Uri and initiated further investigation.
“During the investigation, after reviewing CCTV footage, the suspect identified as Syed Bidar Ali, son of Syed Nazar Shah and resident of Kund Berjala Kamalkote, was summoned for questioning,” police stated.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of Rs 42,000 from his residence. The police said that the investigation into the case is ongoing.
