Property acquired through proceeds of narcotics attached

RAJOURI, July 12: Police today attached properties valuing approximately over Rs 20 lakhs, which were proven to be acquired through illegal means and proceeds of narcotics trade.
In its official statement, Police said that a team of Police Station Rajouri attached a residential complex valuing around Rs 20 lakhs in Thudi area of Tehsil & District Rajouri.
The residential complex belongs to notorious drug peddler namely Mehroz Azam, son of Late Mohd Azam, resident of Thudi area of Rajouri. The property has been attached Under Section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
According to Police, the said immovable property, during course of investigation in case FIRs No. 431/2022 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act; & 148/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act has been proved to be acquired from proceeds of narcotic and illegal means and thus attached U/S 68F of NDPS Act.
A team of police headed by Addl SP Rajouri Musadiq Basu, DySP Hqrs Rajouri Ashwani Sharma, DySP DAR Afrat Hussain, SHO PS Rajouri Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani & ICPP City PSI Sahil Choudhary attached the property as per the laid down procedure of law in presence of Executive Magistrate First Class Rajouri.
