RAJOURI, July 14: A 17-year-old boy was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook of his house in Rajouri district today, after he was allegedly harassed by some people.
A police official said that deceased Akshay Kumar, son of Dinesh Kumar, resident of Kaller as per his family members, had gone missing about five days ago. Two day ago he returned home and was disturbed. Last evening he committed suicide by hanging.
The relatives blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway keeping his body on the road at Kaller Chowk on Jammu-Rajouri highway today and demanded an inquiry into the circumstances leading to his death. The boy was found hanging from the ceiling of his room at village Kallar.

Akshay’s family members and other relatives claimed that he was being harassed by some people after he was recently seen with a girl at a restaurant.
They claimed that the boy ended his life under pressure from these persons including husband of a former Sarpanch and demanded an inquiry into the matter.
Highway remained blocked for over three hours. Later, ASP Rajouri M Vasu, DySP Hqs Ashwani Sharma and SHO Rajouri Aejaz Wani reached the spot and assured the protesting people to hold fair investigations.
Later, the people dispersed on the assurance of police officers. They took the body then for cremation.
