Sanction Degree College in Latti Tehsil: LDC

UDHAMPUR, July 14: Latti Development Committee (LDC) has urged the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to sanction a Govt Degree College at Latti Tehsil headquarters without any more delay.
While reiterating the old demand of the people of Latti Tehsil in remote Dudu Sub Division of district Udhampur of sanctioning a Govt Degree College, Chairman of the Development Committee, Kasturi Lal Gupta during a meeting held today, sought the immediate attention of the LG’s Administration and the J&K Chief Secretary Attal Dulloo towards this issue.
He said several representations have been given to the Higher Education department, Guvernor’s/ LG’s administration during last 8-10 years but the issue remained unattended. He said suitable land at Latti town already stands identified for the college and moreover, five feeding Higher Secondary schools fall in the area. This place fulfills the much needed criteria for the college.
The Chairman, also referred to the commitment of Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, who happens to be the Member Parliament of this area and said that during his public meeting in the area he had assured a Govt Degree College and a Kendriya Vidyalya in Latti tehsil of Udhampur district.
The LDC members hoped that J&K Government would consider the long pending demand of a Degree College of the people of this remote Dudu Sub Division.
