JAMMU, Mar 30: In order to ensure safe, secure and smooth yatra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji shrine during Navratra festival starting from Monday, DIG Udhampur/Reasi range Gareeb Dass, today carried out a detailed “Security Review and Preparedness” meeting at Katra.
All arrangements for regulation and management of crowd at various critical points all along the yatra routes were reviewed. Additional troops from Jammu & Kashmir Armed Police and CRPF including lady police will be deployed to de-congest the bottle necks and assist the yatris.
All critical points and areas will be dominated by physical presence of troops. The DIG directed deployment of “Quick Action Teams” from CRPF and Police Operational Components at all critical points located on the yatra track and holy town of Katra.
There will be enhanced frisking and checking of passengers and vehicles converging and passing through the holy town of Katra with least inconvenience to the yatris, Gareeb Dass said.
A separate “Night and Dawn” domination plan would be put in place by sending joint teams of CRPF and police Patrol in early wee hours of the day. All isolated Nallahs and other geographical features in and around the yatra track will be dominated by laying cut off points by police parties.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the security review meeting by Union Home Secretary last year, three joint Control Rooms are functioning round the clock at Bhawan, Adh-Kunwari and base camp Katra for better and effective communication and coordination.
As a part of security review, all existing measures have been “Re-strategizes and beefed up” to ensure a complete round the clock domination and to calibrate in proper “Response Mechanism” to deal with any kind of eventuality and exigency on the yatra.
Among others Kulbir Singh, SP Katra, Y.R.Bunkar Assistant Commandant CRPF 6th Bn., Ravel Singh, DySP SDPO Katra, Parshotam Sharma, DySP Bhawan and Inspector Sanjeev Gupta SHO Katra participated in the meeting.
