Addressing a public gathering after inaugurating Uma Bhagwati Temple at Umanagri Brariangan in South Kashmir’s district of Anantnag today, which has been opened after a gap of 34 years, the Union Minister said that those who took to arms in 1990 and after that have to choose whether they want to lead a happy and peaceful life by shunning the path of violence and joining national mainstream or face the death.
He said under Modi Government terrorism is taking last breath in J&K and if they (terrorists) will not leave the guns, they will be shown the path of hell or buried in ground alive as no one trying to bring destruction and devastation will be tolerated any more now.
Rai while paying obeisance to Goddess Uma said that Jammu Kashmir has suffered a lot over the 30 years through the hands of anti national elements and now it will not be allowed any more. He said “It is the Narendra Modi’s Bharat and if you don’t leave the path of violence you will either be sent to hell or buried 60 feet under the ground.’’
The Union Minister said that Modi Government is committed to restore the identity of Kashmir which it has lost during last over three decades. “We have to restore that culture in Valley where the Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims celebrate the festivals of Eid and holy jointly where they will embrace each other and pray for the welfare of the two communities,’’ he added.
He said Kashmir suffered a lot in decades long turmoil. He without naming any politicians and political party said some people for their vested interests and vote bank politics tried to divide Kashmiri people but Modi Government is working to restore the composite culture of Valley-the Kashmiriyat.
The Union Minister said “I know the day when Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave Valley by the terrorists and their supporters, the common Muslims would not have eaten meals on that night. Few people created havoc in the Valley and made the entire population hostage which will not be allowed now’’.
Rai said he had gone to Gurez yesterday where some people told him that after Narendra Modi took over as PM their living condition has changed a lot. “Earlier they had no roads no development but after the construction of roads in remote villages their socio –economic condition changed and in last ten years they progressed 10 times more.
He said that no religion teaches hatred or violence. The Kashmir is land of multi cultures and multi religions and people lived in peace and harmony here and this harmony and peace will prevail only when a Muslim behaves like a true Muslim, a Pandit like a true Pandit, a Sikh like a true Sikh and a Christian like a true Christian.
He said religions apart we are all the citizens of the great nation Bharat and we have to dedicate ourselves in service of the nation which is the great Dharma for every countryman irrespective of his religion and region.
He said that Kashmir has been famous across the world for its scenic beauty, its saffron, its meadows, mountains and jungles but unfortunately some vested elements tried to destroy it and turn it into a hell.
Rai said unfortunately this nation was divided by the egos of two politicians who used to be friends also. This should not have happened. The Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Jainis and Buddhists should have lived together in united India. Had Pakistan not been created the condition of that country would have not been so grave today. Its people would not have been facing starvation and approaching the other nations with a begging bowl. Today the economic condition of that country is worst, he added.
He said for 70 long years, Kashmiris were deceived on the name of Article 370 and for last 10 years since the children of Kashmir after visiting different parts of country under Bharat Darshan say on their return that they have been in real sense liberated now and their vision has also increased.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syed Fakhurdin Hamid, SSP, Anantnag, Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy, officers from district administration and office bearers of Uma Bhagwati Asthapan trust were present on the occasion.
During the re-opening ceremony, the idol of Goddess Uma, brought from Rajasthan was placed in the sanctum sanctorum.
