SGPC appoints Bhai Jagtar Singh as Advisor, Coordinator for J&K

JAMMU, July 15: After a long wait of more than 33 years, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) of Sri Amritsar Sahib has appointed Bhai Jagtar Singh as the Advisor and Coordinator of the Dharam Prachar Committee for the J&K UT.
Jagtar Singh, a dedicated Kirtaniya serving the Sikh community for the past 24 years through Kirtan, has also been involved in various religious outreach and community service activities in Jammu.
Since 2017, he has been committed to the SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The appointment of Jagtar Singh will help to sort out the issues faced by the Sikh minority in the Jammu region.
The Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir, especially at the Lakhanpur border and Kathua, welcomed Bhai Jagtar Singh with great enthusiasm.
His role will focus on enhancing educational opportunities, medical facilities and addressing drug issues in the region, in collaboration with the local administration and law enforcement agencies.
His appointment is seen as a significant honor for Jagtar Singh and the Sikh community of Jammu and Kashmir, recognizing their long-standing contributions and service.
The community expressed their support and optimism for the positive changes that his leadership will bring.
Among others who attended the ceremony function included Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of SGPC, and several other committee members.
