NEW DELHI, Mar 31: Mentha oil prices rose by 0.24 per cent to Rs 886.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions after demand from consuming industries picked up in the spot market.
Besides, restricted arrivals from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 886.90 per kg in business turnover of 12 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April contracts edged up by Rs 1.90, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 899.50 per kg in 223 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators due to pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against limited arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
