Refer the article ‘Task Force on development of Jammu region’ DE Mar 26, 2014.
The author after going through the Abhijit Sen report has come to the conclusion that while there has been no shortage of funds for executing several developmental projects in Jammu region, there has been slackness in implementation process on the part of the Government.
The report has recommended that “it is therefore essential that Govt. of India through its Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) set up a proper institutionalized mechanism to monitor these projects in concert with the State Government.”
The lacuna as found by the report should be given a due thought by both the Governments-State and Centre. Unless that does happen, these project will remain in a semi finished State and the desired purpose will not be achieved. Rather it will be a wastage of money.
