Reddy asks party cadre to join electioneering lock, stock & barrel

‘BJP to form Govt in J&K’

JAMMU, July 16: Exuding full confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win the forthcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and form the next Government, Union Minister of Coal & Mining and election Incharge of the party for J&K UT, G Kishan Reddy exhorted his party men to join the battle of ballot with lock, stock and barrel from today and not rest till the elections are over.

Addressing a workshop of ‘Tridev and Morcha Sammelans’ organized by J&K BJP here today, Reddy said those who say that elections in the UT will be deferred are living in fool’s paradise. “The elections will be held soon and you have only two months left for preparations, hence jump the poll process and start the campaigning from today with lock, stock and barrel to reach out every nook and corner of the UT with party’s policies, Modi Government’s achievements and programmes,’’ he added.
Reddy said J&K is transforming completely under Modi rule. “I have been closely monitoring J&K for decades together and there is a sea change in the situation in the State. Gone are the days when there was no one to take tricolour in hand now every person in Kashmir is willingly unfurling the National Flag. This is the transformation which Modi Government brought at ground level’’, Reddy added.
He recalled the day when former Union Minister and then BJP national president, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi had to struggle to unfurl the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Republic Day during nineties and Narendra Modi was Incharge of the Tiranga Yatra at that time but now Tricolour is hoisted on every house in Kashmir.
Taking a strong dig at the Congress and other political parties which ruled J&K for over six decades, the Union Minister held them responsible for militancy in the erstwhile State. The entire political system in the State was made hostage at that time as these Governments had no concrete policy to curb the terrorism.
He said that the J&K witnessed nepotism, corruption, separatism, terrorism Hartal calendars, but now witnessing unprecedented development under the Modi Government.
Reddy said that the people have understood the importance of the BJP Government for the peace and stability in the region.
“It was due to the weak kneed policies of earlier Governments that terrorists ruled the roost during their rule’’. He reiterated Modi Government’s resolve of zero tolerance against terrorism and said it is our commitment while condemning the attack on Army by terrorists in which four Army personnel attained martyrdom and said that no compromise will be made on terrorism and separatism.
Reddy said people of India are having an emotional attachment with J&K and they are concerned for the welfare of its people. He said to further better the situation it is imperative that BJP should form Government in J&K so that the activities of anti national elements are kept under check.
Reddy said this is the first election after the abrogation of Article 370 so party cadre should go to people to explain them the changes which took place since then besides the development projects including road infrastructure, flyovers, national corridor, AIIMS, Medical Colleges, bridges, IIT, IIM etc.
He also asked party men to concentrate on boots and maintain a complete liaison with every section of society and start these activities from today itself.
Tarun Chugh, BJP national general secretary and Prabhari, J&K BJP, Ravinder Raina, president J&K BJP, Dr. Narinder Singh, BJP national secretary, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha), Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy CM, Kavinder Gupta, former Dy CM, Shamsher Singh Manhas, former MP (Rajya Sabha), Sat Sharma, former Minister, Ashok Koul, general secretary (Organization), Sunil Sharma, BJP general secretary and former Minister, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, general secretary and former Minister addressed the workshop.
Tarun Chugh also asked the party cadre to be ready to face the elections. He asked the party cadre to be in the election mood and advised them not to take any rest till the last day of election. He said that the victory of the BJP in Jammu & Kashmir is necessary for the region to save it from the clutches of destructive forces. He asked the party cadre to take leave from their personal and family engagements and remain among masses for these election months. He asked them that the BJP belongs to every section of society and it has worked for everyone during these years. He prompted them to go to every nook and corner of UT and inform them how they were cheated criminally by the parties like NC, Congress, and PDP. He asked them to compare the works done in 70 years before and after the Modi Government and tell them that the Modi Government has done real development and ensured peace and progress in the region.
Ravinder Raina credited the party cadre for the delighted victory in recently held Lok Sabha elections. He dedicated the third comprehensive victory to the hard work of party workers, which resulted in third consecutive victory of the BJP under Narendra Modi who formed Government at the Centre for third term. He spoke on the organization of Tridev & Morcha Sammelans on Assembly constituency level and also asked the party workers to review the voter lists thoroughly.
Dr. Narinder Singh threw light on the political history of J&K and the sacrifices made by the BJP, Jana Sangh, Praja Parishad, the Sangh Parivar and the rapid development that took place in J&K under Modi.
Jugal Kishore Sharma spoke on the commitment of BJP towards the development in J&K and humiliating defeat of both former Chief Ministers in recently held Lok Sabha elections.
Dr. Nirmal Singh spoke in detail on the President’s address in the Parliament and said that the achievements of the Modi Government are unparalleled.
Kavinder Gupta spoke on the achievements of the Modi Government in the last 10 years and enumerated the various public welfare schemes.
Ashok Koul discussed the organization of Sammelans at length with the party leaders and asked them to involve the general masses in their programmes.
Sunil Sharma deliberated on the organization of Morcha Sammelans with the focus on every single Morcha.
Priya Sethi spoke on the achievements of BJP and stressed on the role of individual Morchas in the organization.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, who conducted the proceedings of the workshop also presented a power point presentation explaining the progress and development in J&K after abrogation of Article 370.
Senior leaders also released the new edition of the party’s monthly magazine ‘Kamal Paigam’.
Earlier, Morcha UT presidents presented their reporting regarding the organization of Sammelans.
