Srinagar, July 16: Police in Baramulla today booked a man under the Public Safety Act (PSA) after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
According to the police, the man has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Beigh, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, a resident of Shirpora Chandoosa, Baramulla.
“He has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Srinagar after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority,” police said.
Police noted that many cases are registered against him and that he “was involved in the disturbance of law and order and subversion.”
“Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his anti-national and anti-social activities,” the police added.
