Pensioners joint delegation calls on DG Accounts & Treasuries

JAMMU, July 17: The joint delegation of J&K Civil Secretariat Pensioners Welfare Forum and J&K Retired Accounts Personnel Forum (J&K Accounts ICON Group) met Director General Accounts and Treasuries J&K where Director Accounts and Treasuries Kashmir was also present.
The delegation brought the difficulties of pensioners being faced on account of their physical verification in the respective treasuries, caused due to recent circular instructions issued by the Finance Department.
The issue was discussed in detail with DGAT and DAT.
The authorities have made it crystal clear that it is one time verification and it is to be done in any case as is envisaged in the Law/Rules. “We brought the difficulties and hardships of the pensioners/family pensions ,being faced/will be faced in the treasuries in this behalf into their notice.” The Authorities said that Government does not want that the senior citizens (pensioners) should not feel any inconvenience or discomfort in the treasuries during the course of their personal verification. DG Accounts and Treasuries J&K UT and Director Accounts & Treasuries Kashmir issued on spot directions to the Treasury officers that no senior citizen (pensioners) should face any inconvenience during the course of the physical verification and they should be given due regard and further they (pensioners) should not be asked to bring any statement, any form or any other information except PPO from the bank, any identity proof like Aadhar Card and PAN Card along with.
The Authorities further said that no heal should be given to any false information which might come in the social media, in case of any such move is noticed in the social network-that should be brought in our notice so that we will take up such move with the Authorities for its redressal.
The delegation also requested the DGAT to make any such mechanism in the Treasuries which will be hassle free like JK Bank Branch wise pensioners may be invited for verification on the fixed dates/days in the Treasuries for which he directed the Treasury officers to make such mechanism in their treasuries which will ease the verification system and limited number of pensioner may be called in the treasuries to avoid any rush, delay and hardship/difficulties for the senior citizens.
He also said that the super senior citizens whose age is 80 years and above and also any pensioner who are ill can’t come to treasuries, the Treasury Officer will verify them in their residence.
The pensioners who are residing outside the UT of Jammu and Kashmir or outside the country should wait and in their case any phool proof arrangements are made/ devised in due course of time.
It was also requested that pensioners who draw their pension in the Secretariat Treasury Jammu /Srinagar should allowed to enter the Secretariat premises without any difficulty. DGAT has said SP Security will be requested to ensure such pensioners are allowed to enter the Secretariat premises without any difficulties.
