JAMMU, July 18: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has recovered Rs 3 lakh of a victim lost in an online fraud case.
A Cyber Cell official said that the complainant received a call from an unknown person asking for upgradation of SIM card.
As instructed, when he clicked on an app for upgradation of the SIM card, the complainant lost his hard-earned money, said the Cyber Cell official.
He said, during the course of investigation, the Cyber Cell DPO Jammu acted swiftly and recovered Rs 300000 the victim had lost to the online fraud.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
