RAJOURI, July 18: A minor boy died after he was drowned in a river in Beri Pattan area of Nowshera in district Rajouri today.
Reports said 15-year-old, Ajay Kumar, son of Pappu Ram, a resident of Dalli, Kalakote, drowned in the river at Beri Pattan while bathing along with his some friends. The incident occurred earlier today, leading to an immediate response from local authorities.
Upon receiving the information, a police team led by SHO Nowshera, Sumit Magotra, promptly arrived at the scene. The team recovered Ajay Kumar’s body from the river and shifted it to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Nowshera.
Block Medical Officer of Nowshera, Dr. Iqbal Malik, stated that Ajay Kumar was brought dead in the hospital. Following a postmortem, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
