JAMMU, July 20: All-party meeting held in Jammu today unanimously rejected the orders of the Central Government, and strongly raised the demand to roll back the amendment Under Section 55 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, (34 of 2019) and return the State status to Jammu and Kashmir before the Assembly elections.
Along with this, there was a demand to deal strictly with terrorism and fulfil the promise of restoring peace. A 10-day ultimatum was given to the Govt to roll back its anti-people decisions in J&K.
In this all-party meeting held at Jammu Press Club, tribute was paid to the Indian soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the media persons Gulchain Singh Charak, Sheikh Abdul Rehman and Shiv Sena (UBT) State chief Manish Sahni jointly said that a unanimous decision was taken here to raise voice against the dictatorial orders of the Centre with unity.
They said that the government has been given an ultimatum till July 30 to roll back the amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act. Along with this, there has been a demand to announce Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir soon and to return the status of full Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before the elections.
Sahni said that a core committee will also be formed and it has been decided to come to the streets and sit on a chain hunger strike if the demands are not met. Many representatives from NC, PDP, IDP, AAP, CPI (M), Shiv Sena etc also attended the meeting.
